Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your first session.
-
Each session begins with a conversation about what's going on for you — physically, emotionally, or energetically. From there, gentle muscle testing helps identify areas of imbalance, and we use hands-on techniques to support your body's natural ability to release and rebalance.
-
This varies from person to person. Some people notice a shift after just one or two sessions, while others benefit from an ongoing series — particularly for longer-standing patterns. We'll talk through what feels right for you as we go.
-
Kinesiology can support a wide range of concerns, including stress, tension, low energy, emotional overwhelm, and general wellbeing. It's a gentle, whole-person approach rather than a treatment for a single specific condition.
-
No — an open mind is welcome, but belief isn't a requirement. Many clients come simply curious, or even a little skeptical, and are still able to have a meaningful experience.
-
It sits in its own space. Unlike massage, it's not primarily about physical manipulation of muscles, and unlike counselling, it's not talk-therapy focused. It gently draws on the body's own feedback to guide the session.
-
Not unless you want to. You're always in control of how much you share. Kinesiology can work with what's present in the body, even without going into detail verbally.
-
That's completely normal and welcomed. Sessions can sometimes bring up emotion as the body releases tension — you're always held in a safe, supportive space, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.
-
Most people feel calm, lighter, or pleasantly tired — similar to how you might feel after a deep rest. Some notice changes gradually over the following days.
-
Yes, kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive approach that can be suitable for children. Sessions are adapted to the child's age and needs — feel free to get in touch beforehand if you'd like to talk through what that would look like for your child.
-
Yes, kinesiology works well as a complementary approach alongside other health and wellbeing support you may already have in place.
-
Yes — sessions are available in person as well as online, whichever suits you best.
-
Yes, online sessions are available for follow-ups and coaching packages, offering the same care and attention from wherever you are.
-
No special preparation is needed — just come as you are. Wearing comfortable clothing and having water on hand can be helpful.
The Principles Behind Our Approach
The philosophy that shapes every session.
The Body Can Heal Itself
1
Given the right support, the body's own intelligence moves toward balance and health. Our role is to help remove blockages and support that process — not to "fix" you from the outside.
Muscle Testing as a Communication Tool
2
Gently testing muscle response is a way of accessing information from the nervous system that isn't always available through conscious thought or words. A muscle that responds differently under a particular stimulus can point to stress or imbalance connected to it.
Mind, Body & Energy as One System
3
Physical symptoms, emotions, and energetic imbalance aren't separate — they're expressions of the same underlying disruption. A physical pain might have an emotional root; an emotional block might show up as physical tension. We work with the whole person, not just the symptom.
Stress & the Nervous System Come First
4
Much of our approach centres on whether the body is in a stressed, defensive state or a state of safety and repair. Helping the nervous system out of chronic stress is often the first step before anything else can truly shift.
Root Cause Over Symptom Management
5
Symptoms are the surface expression of a deeper imbalance — physical, emotional, energetic, or rooted in old patterns. We aim to find and address what's underneath, rather than simply quieting the symptom.
The Body Doesn't Lie
6
Because muscle testing bypasses conscious filtering, it offers a direct source of information — even when you yourself aren't consciously aware of the underlying issue.
Many Tools, One Framework
7
Kinesiology isn't one fixed technique — it's a testing framework used to work out which tool your body needs, whether that's acupressure, flower essences, sound, emotional release work, nutritional support, or chakra balancing. The muscle testing is the diagnostic thread; the toolkit changes from person to person and session to session.
Energy as a Real, Workable Layer
8
Concepts like meridians, chakras, and energy fields are treated as real, testable, and correctable — not just metaphors. This is part of what places kinesiology within energy or vibrational medicine.
